Police: 3 Juveniles Stabbed To Death In North Carolina Home

NEW BERN, N.C. (AP) — Three young people were stabbed to death and two other people were hurt in an attack at a home in eastern North Carolina, police said Wednesday.

Officers were called to a report of a person with a knife around 11 p.m. Tuesday and took a suspect into custody, New Bern Police Lt. Ronda Allen said. The officers then entered the home and found the dead and injured.

Two juveniles were already dead and a third died at a hospital, Allen said.

Another juvenile and an adult were injured in the stabbing. Allen said they had been treated and released.

All of the victims were Burmese, Allen said, and a language barrier has complicated the investigation.

She did not release names or ages of the victims but said they ranged from very young to juvenile.

The suspect and the victims knew each other, although the suspect was not a member of the victims’ family, Allen said.

There was no immediate word on any charges the suspect will face.

Allen did not release any potential motive in the stabbings. She said police planned to release more information about the stabbing later Wednesday.

The State Bureau of Investigation was assisting New Bern police.
